ABSTRACT
This is a report on the second season of five-year (2022–2026) archaeological project at site Mycenaean Pefkakia, which collaboration between Polish Archaeological Institute Athens and Ephorate Antiquities Magnesia. In 2023, following an extensive geophysical survey geoarchaeological corings conducted during previous season, two trenches were opened in sectors designated as B C. Sector B, burial ground from late Hellenistic–Roman period was found, several amphora burials well single tile grave excavated. However, layers dating to Late Helladic (LH) have not been revealed, despite significant depth reached. C, stone walls multi-phase building dated LH IIIA2 found. addition, traces continued habitation past 1200 BC area attested by pottery fragments more developed IIIC period.
