ABSTRACT
To elucidate tongue coating microbiota and metabolic differences in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients with yellow or white coatings.Tongue samples were collected from 53 CHB (28 25 patients) 22 healthy controls. Microbial DNA was extracted the samples, bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA gene V3 region amplified all sequenced Ion Torrent PGM™ sequencing platform according to standard protocols. The metabolites coatings evaluated using a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) platform. Statistical analyses then performed. The relative compositions of microbiotas significantly different those controls, but abundances diversity levels not different. Compared patients, had higher viral (HBV-DNA) titers (median 21210 vs 500, respectively, P = 0.03) lower level Bacteroidetes (20.14% 27.93%, 0.013) Proteobacteria (25.99% 18.17%, 0.045) microbial at phylum level. inferred metagenomic pathways enriched mainly involved amino acid metabolism, which consistent disorder. bacteria Bacteroidales order (19.2% 27.22%, 0.011), whereas Neisseriales (21.85% 13.83%, 0.029). At family level, abundance Neisseriaceae positively correlated HBV-DNA negatively S-adenosyl-L-methionine level. This research illustrates specific clinical features structures coatings, facilitates understanding traditional diagnosis.
