The use of antidiabetic medications in community-dwelling diabetic patients in Shanghai in 2018

ABSTRACT
Objective
To investigate the use of diabetes medications and their effects on community diabetic patients in Shanghai, China, provide evidence for antidiabetic drugs region.
Methods
The data were from a database 2018 Survey Community Diabetes Mellitus China. There 4 612 subjects included this cross-sectional study 2018. According to drugs, population was divided into untreated group, single drug double combination group multi-drugs compare fasting blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, BMI prevalence complications different groups.
Results
About 70.9% used hypoglycemic agents, 34.8% metformin, 35.1% sulfonylureas, 22.9% alpha glycosidase inhibitors, 13.8% insulin. The nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy, stroke, foot higher than single-drug users (P 0.05).
Conclusion
The most common Shanghai are α-glycosides inbibitor, glucose control is not good enough. Patients with longer duration diabetes, lower rate HbA1C at goal, may be more prone multiple drugs.
