MRI features of placenta percreta

Objective To investigate the MRI features of placenta percreta.

Methods A retrospective review materials 46 patients who underwent and confirmed invasive (19 cases percreta 27 accreta )clinically or histopathological. All half-fourier acquisition single-shot turbo spin-echo true fast imaging with steady-state precession scans. Two experienced radiologists independently reviewed MR images blindly. Seven were evaluated. Direct signs including bulging cyrtoid outline wall urinary bladder nodular protrusion; indrect intraplacental thick dark bands placenta, abnormal vascularity, marked placental heterogeneity, uterine irregular around cervix. The evaluated using Fisher two-sided exact test for comparing differences between accreta. Based on surgical pathology criteria, sensitivity specificity diagnosing calculated.

Results In 19 plactenta pertcreta, outline, heterogeneity cervix 16, 12(radiologist 1); 17, 14, 13(radiologist 2) respectively. In accreta, 7, 9, 5(radiologist 6, 8, These significantly associated (all P<0.05). 6 invaded, 4 showed protrusion. mean 7 (bulging protrusion, cervix) differentiating as follows, sensitivity: 86.9% (33/38), 18.5% (7/38), 89.5% (34/38), 79.0% (30/38), 94.7% (36/38) 65.8% (25/38), specificity: 76.0% (41/54), 100.0% (54/54), 37.0% (20/54), 9.3% (5/54), 68.6% (37/54), 11.1% (6/54) 81.5% (44/54).

Conclusions The are useful diagnosis among placenta. protrusion is suggestive involvement.
