Analysis of the distribution and location of breaks in patients with peripheral rhegmatogenous retinal detachment

Objective To analyze the distribution and location of breaks in patients with peripheral rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.Methods Seventy-eight cases (78 eyes) detachment underwent scleral buckling.The location,shape size breaks,distance to limbus,relationship degeneration oblique muscles were measured recorded.Results A total 113 holes found 78 eyes most them (63.72％) located superiotemporal area.They comprised 64 tears 49 holes.There 34.62％ having more than 1 hole.The distances limbus ranged from 7.5 mm 17 (average at 12.60 mm),which had significant relationship ocular axis (F =4.035,P =0.047).The two ends area 32 (41.02％) 49.56％ near muscles.Conclusions The distance is longer axis.Most frequent locations are superiortemporal inferiortemporal.The frequently area.The results helpful patients' examination breaks' finding locating.
