ABSTRACT
Objective To investigate the optimal method of catheterization for lung cancer patients by comparing external jugular vein catheter, subclavian catheter, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) and femoral catheter. Methods 275 treated with 4 types were selected this retrospective review from December 2007 to April 2013,including 38 who catheter,96 subclavian catheter,106 PICC,and 35 catheter.Success rate (one-time total),mean time, mean indwelling time, incidences catheter-related complications, and patient comfort groups compared. Results The success rates not significantly different (P =0.595) ; mean time (both P =0.000).The in PICC group was shorter than those group, subclavian =0.004,P =0.003,P =0.006),and longer other 3 =0.001,P =0.000,P =0.002).Total incidence complications during among =0.002) found correlated (r =0.318,P =0.000).Conclusions deep-vein are all mature techniques high rates. The most appropriate should be decided based on individual conditions each patient. Key words: External catheter;  Subclavian Femoral Peripherally
