ABSTRACT
Objective To compare the outcomes of using fresh and glycerin-cryopreserved corneal tissue in treating purulent keratitis with deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty. Methods This was a retrospective case series study.Thirty-two patients (32 eyes) successfully underwent keratoplasty (DALK) Shandong Eye Hospital from January 2011 to August 2012.Based on method for preserving tissue, all were divided into (FCT) group (13 cases) (GCCT) (19 cases).Data donor, complications, graft status visual outcome collected. An independent samples t test analysis used analyze data. Results The amount time epithelium graft heal FCT GCCT 3.8±2.2 d 7.3±2.7 (t=-3.764,P<0.05).The edema disappear 5.7±2.6 10.4±3.0 (t=-4.348,P<0.01).In follow-up phase,3 cases defects occurred healed symptomatic treatment. After surgery, the best corrected acuity (BCVA) 23 (excluding cataract congenital amblyopia) improved 20/63-20/25,the mean BCVAs groups 0.25±0.12 logMAR 0.28±0.17 logMAR,respectively (t=-1.428,P>0.05).Conclusion When is treat DALK,the took longer than tissue. If potential or actual complications treated timely reasonable manner, similar would be obtained as group.
