ABSTRACT
Objective
To investigate the cardiac structure and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy of infant diabetic mother(IDM), to analyze outcome in IDM.
Methods
Totally 23 cases IDM admitted NICU from Feb.2012 Jan.2013 were selected as observation group, randomly same period with gestational age mother baby control group. The interventricular septum thickness, left ventricular posterior wall aortic valve internal diameter, right ejection fraction detected compared between 2 groups. And echocardiography was followed up 3 months 6 old.
Results
In thickness[(3.20±0.28) mm], thickness[(3.40±0.31) mm] significantly higher than those group(all P<0.05). Ejection fraction[(54.00±3.76)×10-2] lower that group(P<0.05). Follow-up after months, old, thickness returned normal.Four cases(17.4%) had malformations.
Conclusions
IDM has high morbidity congenital heart disease, should be done identify disease birth.IDM combined is a transient, benign process, prognosis good.
