ABSTRACT
To investigate the effects of spinal manipulation (SM) on brain functional activity in patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH).Eleven LDH were recruited study. All received 6 times SM treatment and then clinical efficacy was evaluated. magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scans before after treatment.Three subjects dropped out 8 completed study, among whom 4 cases effective ineffective treatment. The required pressure value producing same level (VAS 50) pain (7.43 ± 1.47) kg (10.53 0.55) patients(P<0.05); however, there no significant difference (P>0.05). Compared to pre-treatment level, mainly inhibited, inhibited areas located right side prefrontal cortex cerebellum; while generally enhanced patients.SM can affect LDH, is cerebellum when effective.
