ABSTRACT
Introduction. Traumatic brain injuries are a significant public health issue in both developed and developing countries. In Georgia, traumatic remain one of the leading causes mortality disability. affect families, communities societies Georgia have far-reaching human, social economic costs, manifested increased emergency department visits, hospitalizations, disability deaths. The aim this study is to retrospectively analyze epidemiological features Brain Injuries on example Medical Centre which provides first level trauma care for patients country. Material methods. Retrospective observational was conducted from August 1 October 31, 2018. included who were admitted with diagnosis S00-S09.0 codes (ICD 10). SPSS 20 used statistical analysis. Results. A total 96 TBI-related hospitalizations studied. 56.3% (n=54) hospitalized males. average age 40.7 years. Furthermore, aged 25-44 years more represented number (39.6%). 95.8% all as result unintentional injuries. Unintentional falls shown be predominant mechanism injury accounting over half (56.2%). second most common road traffic injury, mostly occurring among males (63.9%). Conclusions. This offers an insight into understanding National Center Georgia.
