ABSTRACT
'Sporidesmium' lichenicola sp. nov. is described from the decaying thallus of an unidentified Leptogium species growing on tree bark Guaramacal National Park in Boconó, Táchira, western Venezuela. This only second lichenicolous to be under this generic name, and differences that similar Sporidesmium s. lat. are discussed. A more precise placement will have await a molecularly based taxonomy genus. The original material comes mycologically little explored region country, brief information previous mycological (including lichenological) studies area provided for first time English. new combination S. sinense (syn. Repetophragma sinense) also made.
