Knowledge, attitude and precautionary practices towards COVID-19 among healthcare professionals in Karachi, Pakistan

ABSTRACT
Introduction: With the increase in incidence rate of COVID-19, healthcare professionals (HCPs) being at frontline outbreak response are higher risk getting exposure and suffering from infection. The present study aimed to evaluate knowledge, attitude, precautionary practices HCPs towards COVID-19.
 Methodology: current was a descriptive, cross-sectional, online directed working metropolitan city Karachi, during February 2020 March using self-administered questionnaire. A systematic random sampling approach adopted.
 Results: total 286 completed surveys were incorporated investigation with 74.28%. median (interquartile range, IQR) knowledge score 18.79 (17.64-19.57). Physicians found be more knowledgeable (OR: 1.32, 95% CI: 0.17-4.26, p = 0.003) as compared other HCPs. Similarly, private work settings 1.94, 1.54-2.79, p=0.001), having experience (OR 1.82; CI 1.64-2.78; < 0.005) well-informed than public sector 0.81; 0.63–0.72; 0.004). correlation between attitude respondents significantly correlated (correlation coefficient: 0.13, 0.005).
 Conclusions: findings revealed that well conversant have an optimistic COVID-19. Further contemplates required understanding national level so viable mediations could planned combat this pandemic.
