ABSTRACT
Research on populations of the family Mugilidae is necessary for framework their good use and conservation, given documented spatial-temporal variation in attributes biological processes. Mugil curema has also shown particularities southeastern Gulf California, which should be considered. In total, 626 individuals were collected from February 2015 to August 2016. The gonad development pattern was asynchronous divided into six ovarian five testicular phases. sex succession as size increases, presence only males smaller sizes, some aspects structure, eosinophilic cells stroma suggest that M. could a protandrous hermaphroditic species. Thus, at sexual maturity (18.26 cm total length) than females (22.08 cm). This information greatly relevant fishery management measures sustainable approach and, same time, arouses interest future research.
