ABSTRACT
A study of the effects three differentiating agents, butyric acid, retinoic acid and cytosine arabinoside on proliferation differentiation primary cultures, obtained from sixteen patients with myelo-proliferative disorder was conducted. The results showed that BA an effective inhibitor cell inducer cytodifferentiation. An acute non-lymphoblastic leukemia patient treated sodium butyrate. temporary increase in differentiation-associated parameters were noted. However, SB short-lived. lack clinical response led to development a prodrug pivaloyloxymethylbutyrate (AN-9). This more potent vitro than induction cytodifferentiation inhibition proliferation.
