ABSTRACT
Volatile blend of cotton leaves extracted in Steam distillate was found to play some decisive role insect attractions when evaluated through various field and laboratory bioassays. TLC GC-MS analysis identification steam highly susceptible variety S-12 resistant Ravi showed qualitative quantitative differences. Susceptible varieties indicated the presence greater potential mono-terpenes (α-pinene myrcene, limonene ocimene etc), while possessed more β-pinene. An unidentified compound 96% peak intensity 34% Ravi. Cis form caryophyllene present trans- α-terpeniolene only
