ABSTRACT
Background and Objective: Fucoidan extract from the Sargassum plagiophyllum brown seaweed are renowned for its anticancer antibacterial activities. is one of ingredients S. that can be extracted by conventional methods new methods, which microwave assisted extraction (MAE). Research on fucoidan was still limited. Thus, an advanced experiment how (MAE) was conducted in this study activities against Escherichia coli bacteria HeLa cancer cells were studied. Materials Methods: collected Gunung Kidul Coast Yogyakarta, Indonesia. plagiophyllum acquired applying MAE method at 600 W 5 min using hydrochloric acid as a solvent. The cytotoxicity assays performed MTT assay agar plate diffusion respectively. Results: yield examined 9.90% (w/w), consisted 2.60% sulfate 2.33 mg 100 g1 fucose. finding indicated that exhibits no action cell line 27.82 mL1. Conclusion: technique proven to support successfully. Therefore, has have promise beneficial activity.
