ABSTRACT
There is disparity in the nursing work-force of minority leaders. The aim this article to describe and evaluate an innovative program designed provide mentorship increase leadership skills students.An was developed including coordination financial aid meetings, incorporating technology, enacting online preimmersion course, choosing training mentors, hosting a lunch-and-lead series, using intensive review sessions tutoring. Program evaluation data were analyzed mixed methods.All 40 participants passed NCLEX-RN had obtained employment after program. Of 20 respondents, 25% already role nursing. Qualitative about revealed categories leadership, networking, mentorship, more time, gratitude.This successful promoting retention, graduation, development future nurse [J Nurs Educ. 2018;57(9):526-534.].
