Clinical analysis on octogenarians undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting

ABSTRACT
Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics, evaluate operative procedure and results of octogenarians underwent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Methods The retrospective analysis included medical data on 19 patients aged 80 years or greater undergoing CABG at our department cardiac surgery from June 2012 to May 2014.There were 15 male 4 female patients, aging 91 with a mean (82.7±3.3) years. Fourteen cardiopulmonary on-pump CABG, three off-pump two beating heart assisted extracorporeal circulation. The number grafts was 1 (mean 3.2±1.1). Results There more coexisting diseases in CABG. Fifteen unstable angina pectoris sixteen had history myocardial infarction. One patient died postoperative period. most frequent complication atrial fibrillation (52.6%). Acute kidney injury (AKI) (31.6%), insufficiency (42.1%), chornic anemia (42.1%) hypoproteinemia (47.4%) observed higher incidence. Conclusions Because critical preoperative state comorbidity, careful evaluation intensive perioperative treatment must be enhanced who Frequency follow-up can properly increased.
