First Synthesis of 2-Tropolonylquinoline-4-carboxylic Acid Derivatives via Pfitzinger Reaction in Water

ABSTRACT
A facile and clean synthesis of novel 2-tropolonyl substituted quinoline-4-carboxylic acids via Pfitzinger reaction 3-acetyltropolone or 3-acetyl-5-bromotropolone with different isatins in water was described.It the first time that applied to troponoid field.The structures all synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis spectral data.Quinoline-4-carboxylic are great synthetic interest due their wide variety medicinal applications, as key intermediates for drugs. 1,29][10] Although 2-substituted among most extensively studied heterocyclic recent years, best our knowledge, tropolonyl-substituted quinoline-4-carbocylic is very few. 113][14][15][16] In addition, tropolone moiety also plays an important role molecular assemblies a faster efficient lead generation towards new drug discovery.But derivatives scarce nature, 17 occurring only lower plants fungi 18 limited information available on these compounds.
