ABSTRACT
The thermal management processes for PhotoVoltaic (PV) cooling applications, increase PV systems’ overall efficiency and yield to a maximized power generation. Accordingly, this paper investigates recent methods, which involve the use of Phase Change Material (PCM) under back modules. Compared other methods (such as air water based methods) PCM techniques show less need maintenance, are environment-friendly, have longer life cycle. Since diverse in nature, many exist guide their selection procedure, begins by revealing different types PCM, found be Organic, Inorganic, Eutectic Commercial with characteristics each. After acknowledging natures, process is established on either melting temperature, latent heat, or conductivity PCM. Results shown that best option followed Organic due improved chemical aspects when compared Inorganic Concerning criteria, easiest yet sufficient temperature method, simplified calculations thermic quantities. At end, future work recommendations declared, related lifecycle assessment cooling/heating cycles effects entropy.
