ABSTRACT
Nanocrystalline Fe-1.77at.%C and Fe-3.27at.%C alloys prepared by ball milling iron powders graphite are annealed below 573K where the precipitation of Fe 3 C does not occur. Upon annealing, a significant grain coarsening is observed in alloy, whereas inhibited alloy. Within framework thermodynamic theories, inhibition nanocrystalline Fe-C discussed. It demonstrated that can be ascribed to vanished driving force for growth which caused interaction between carbon boundaries nanograins.
