ABSTRACT
The reaction mechanism of an Al-TiO2 system is discussed. Thermodynamic analysis indicates that the between Al and TiO2 can occur spontaneously due to negative Gibbs free energy system. When reinforcement volume fraction 30%, there endothermic peak exothermic in DSC curve. But when increases 100%, are two independent peaks height them obviously. With increasing heating rate, ignite temperature becomes higher all move direction. reactions consist steps: first, reacts with form stable α-Al2O3 particles active Ti atoms; second, atoms react Al3Ti.
