ABSTRACT
The tension behaviour of initially austenitic NiTi thin wall tubes was investigated using measurements temperature and strain fields simultaneously. first specimen totally superelastic but the unloading performed before end loading stress plateau. second beyond plateau to allow analyzing unloading, not at a faster rate. Both tests show homogeneous beginning loading. Strong localisations, taking shape helical bands, are observed during plateaus. To obtain quantitative energy information, allowing better recognition deformation mechanisms, an estimation local heat sources based on image processing is presented. Two methods analysis mechanisms proposed in present paper: homogeneous, then localized stages.
