ABSTRACT
Cob is an earthen building material made by soil, fibres and water used for millennia. However, cob construction disappeared out during the nineteenth century. These last years, it experiencing a renaissance in Northwestern France Southern England. Due to limited technical knowledge, investigation of engineering properties important modern design practice code requirements. Moreover, ensure properties, necessary have same quality mix along phases. The aim this study determine variation monitoring prototype Normandy (France). This investigated structural composition, content, density, mechanical thermal conductivity. Specimens shape were cylindrical 110 x H220 mm prismatic 300 70 mm. Results indicated (water materials proportions) between three different lifts. variations lead densities and, consequently, variables compressive strengths: 0.99 1.38 MPa conductivities from 0.610 - 0.816 W.m -1 ∙K .
