ABSTRACT
Physical Vapour Deposited (PVD) coatings are used in wide range of industrial applications where requirements differ. For example, cutting adhesive-abrasive wear along with high contact stresses prevail and PVD coating thickness ~2 μm used. In forming adhesive usually dominates relatively thick (~5 μm) preferred. both the subjected to cyclic stress therefore it is a point interest learn behaviour different under loading. Cracking resistance fatigue properties gradient TiCN on hard metal substrate was evaluated by means Vickers indentation method. Hard chosen as material avoid pile-up effect support during indentation. The results single test show that secondary radial circumferential cracks appear tested already after first indent. With increasing cycles grow up critical crack length which doesn’t increase further. has no significant cracking behaviour.
