ABSTRACT
B 4 C-SiC-Si ceramic composites were fabricated based on molten silicon infiltration method. The influence of preforms ' forming pressure the microstructure and mechanical properties was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) universal testing machines, etc. results showed that consists C, 12 (C,Si,B) 3 , SiC Si phases. analysis that: volume percent free decreased with increase in pressures. Vikers-hardness increased, while bending strength fracture toughness both increased initially then pressures which optimal is 200 MPa. optimum strength, obtained are 319±13 MPa, 4.9±0.1 MPa·m 1/2 24±1 GPa, respectively. density open porosity 2.58 g/cm 0.19 %,
