ABSTRACT
This study aimed to identify the effects of sintering conditions dental zirconia on grain size and translucency.MATERIALS AND METHODS.Ten specimens each two commercial brands (Lava KaVo) were made sintered under five different conditions.Microwave (MS) conventional (CS) methods used fabricate specimens. The dwelling time was 20 minutes for MS minutes, 2, 10, 40 hours CS.The density blocks measured.Total transmission measurements taken using a spectrophotometer.Twoway analysis variance model performed at type-one error rate 0.05.RESULTS.There no significant difference in between conditions. The mean increased according as follows: MS-20 min, CS-20 CS-2 hr, CS-10 CS-40 hr both brands. The ranged from 347-1,512 nm Lava 373-1,481 KaVo.The light transmittance values KaVo 28.39-34.48%and 28.09-30.50%,respectively.CONCLUSION.Different resulted differences transmittance. To obtain more translucent restorations, shorter times should be considered.
