ABSTRACT
Asthma is an obstructive lung disease with high prevalence. Symptom control in asthma remains poor despite significant advancements treatment guidelines and inhalational devices. This often attributed to inadequate patient adherence the inhaler technique insufficient education on its long-term use. Through this study, we aimed assess impact of reinforcement proper symptom quality life. A prospective cohort 400 patients using dry powder inhalers metered dose was recruited outpatient clinic our hospital. At time recruitment, correctness usage assessed, pre-test Inhaler Technique Score (ITS) recorded for each patient. Then, a ten-step inhalation taught through demonstration, post-test ITS score again. done at monthly intervals 3 months. Along it, two tailored questionnaires, Control Test (ACT) Quality Life Questionnaire (AQLQ), were administered visit Significant enhancements noted from first third scores, which improved 6.91 9.87 (out 10) (p<0.001), paralleled by ACT increases 17.06 19.37 25) (p<0.001) visits one two, 20.52 three, signifying improvement control. life similarly 4.45 5.12 5.45 7) across three as assessed AQLQ.
