The persistence of the casual poor in Johannesburg

This paper draws the attention of urban historians and historical geographers to neglect casual poor in South Africa's cities, more particularly those Johannesburg. Evidence is presented show that have been an ever-present constituent milieu. Their life-style their modes existence so far received little attention. The occupations are informal sector. It suggested squeezed out one income niche only reappear at a later time alternative occupation.
