ABSTRACT
Abstract Despite extensive work done in the field of sepsis biomarkers; still, there is no consensus on which parameter could be considered as an ideal biomarker for diagnosis. This review aims to look into existing biomarkers clinical utility are currently being used diagnostics along with their advantages and disadvantages. We also provide insight usefulness a multi-marker approach diagnosing what future direction. A literature was conducted four search engines such PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Research Gate were data mining. Three clinically relevant markers diagnosis procalcitonin (PCT), prespsin, pentraxin-3 reviewed critically. Articles assessment approach. Overall more than 100 research papers found eligible this review. Currently, most studies using chemiluminescent immunoassay-based PCT diagnostic method sepsis. has been standardized all over world, traditional C-reactive protein (CRP) highly sensitive-CRP. But now, presepsin sensitive specific early pentraxin-3, but due lack standardization assay methods costs involved, both parameters still long way finding space routine practice. More efforts should made combine several develop algorithm can overcome shortcomings these
