ABSTRACT
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of death in India. Although studies have reported a high prevalence NCD tribal populations, there limited data pertaining mortality due to NCDs. Therefore, this study we estimated proportion deaths NCDs among 15 yr and older age group districts India.We conducted community-based survey 12 (one per State) with more than 50 cent population. Data were collected using verbal autopsy tool from family member deceased. The sample size was 452 district. We obtained list for reference period one year updated it during survey. assigned International Classification Diseases-10 classification analyzed proportions causes death. age-standardized rate (ASRD) also estimated.We surveyed 5292 those above years age. Overall, accounted 66 deaths, followed by infectious (15%) injuries (11%). Cardiovascular 10 sites. In East Garo Hills (18%) Lunglei (26%), neoplasms ASRD ranged 426 Kinnaur 756 100,000 Hills.The findings suggested that populations It is hence control should be public health priorities
