Availability of pediatric-evaluated formulations in Serbia

ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to analyze the availability and coverage by health insurance reimbursement pediatric formulations labeled for children up age 12 in Serbia. To provide good insight general medicines, results were compared with World Health Organization's (WHO) "Model List Essential Medicines Children" published evidence.Sources information about medicines are Summary Product Characteristics, National Insurance Fund (NHIF) Drug Lists, WHO Model Lists Children, Serbia's official drug registry (2013).Out total number Serbia, only 49% (496) available children. Of all drugs children, 66% license majority parenteral formulation (57%), followed local use (28%) oral (23%). lowest was 0-27 days. From licensed years old, NHIF covers 64% drugs. essential Serbia 51%, from which 92% use.Our demonstrated alarming lack suitable Significant differences exist worldwide. global point view, access should, therefore, be highest priority.
