ABSTRACT
Changing pattern of dermatophytic infection among people Sikkim over the past few years and its recurrence rate has brought a need to do study on clinical from this part country. The objectives are discern patterns dermatophytosis, identification isolated fungi species level see recurrence. was carried out January 2015 May 2016. A total 192 samples were collected patients with findings infection. Required history taken, followed by examination lesions sample collection. processed for mycological till follow up done assess pattern. age distribution 2 80 years. mean median 30.33 33 respectively. male female ratio 1.8:1. Dermatophytosis noted more commonly in students (n = 64, 33.33%) jawans 44, 22.92%). Maximum occurrence April July 106, 55.20%) seen mainly young Hindu males. Tinea corporis 104, 54.16%) most common manifestation tinea unguium 30, 15.63%). T. mentagrophyte (40%) schoenleinii (33.3%), tonsurans (16.6%) rubrum (6.6%). cases faciei 100%, pedis 80% 46.6%. Overall cure 58.3% 34.3%. In dermatophytes, 73.68% that non-dermatophytes it 28.07%. is an important health problem high difference etiological agent other parts India.
