The association of age and gender with risk factors of noncommunicable diseases among employees in West of Iran

ABSTRACT
The relationships that age and gender share with risk factors (RFs) of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) were assessed among a large-scale employ in Western Iran.In this epidemiologic cross-sectional study, 7129 employees from Kermanshah Province using census method 2012. Data on RFs NCD collected standard questionnaire. Demographic information, diet, physical activity, tobacco use, history hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, cancer studied.The proportion ≥5 servings fruits vegetables consumption per day was lower higher ages (P = 0.001), greater females than males (72.1% vs. 47.8%; P < 0.0001). Tobacco use more (13.3% 0.6%; Overweight obesity prevalence increased prominent (67.8% 55.3%; Overall, the having 3-5 those ≥55 years (20.4% 6.6%; 0.0001).The major NCDs older persons male participants. More preventive programs such as health education are recommended.
