The objective of this study was discuss the clinical presentation, pathogenesis, imaging, and surgical management pseudoarthrosis tissue mass associated odontoid nonunion. Atlantoaxial subluxation (AAS) has been widely reported in patients rheumatoid arthritis. AAS leads repeated cycles partial tear repair ligaments around altantoaxial complex, resulting formation periodontoid (pseudotumor). It is thought that (cicatrix), certain cases fracture, because similar pathology. retrospective review note. Here, underwent posterior decompression through C1–C2 laminectomy occipitocervical (C0–C4) fusion instrumentation, which resulted dramatic improvement his symptoms spontaneous regression We have described an interesting rare nonunion, regressed following stand-alone instrumentation. To best our knowledge, only handful such cicatrix fixation literature, adds growing list may help understanding natural history disease process one day. Although rare, should be considered as differential diagnosis enhancing mass, especially if there any cervical spine trauma.
