ABSTRACT
A BSTRACT Aim: It was thought that resistance acquired during treatment of systemic diseases can lead to resistant bacteria in eye infections. However, evidences are showing emergence bacterial owing prior topical antibiotic usage. In the current study, we intended promote evidence-based usage antibiotics outbreak epidemic keratoconjunctivitis. Methods: descriptive study designed. First 50 patients who visited outpatient department ophthalmology with signs and symptoms EKC months July-August, 2023 a tertiary hospital northern India were included study. Prior this exclusion criteria. Conjunctival swabs taken subjected Gram staining Culture sensitivity, for any infection. Results: Only two slides gram stain showed gram-positive cocci. These samples positive Methicillin Staphylococcs Aureus (MRSA). Rest 48 negative growth. P value no growth cultures <0.05, which is significant. Conclusions: Our suggests restrain from overusage outbreaks until microbiological outcomes suggest otherwise. view presence MRSA neo-natal sample, its known serious complications, prophylactic use modifications once reports culture sensitivity available.
