ABSTRACT
Prediction of outcome in intensive care unit (ICU) patients is imperative importance. Our aim was to assess and compare the performance Acute Physiology Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) II APACHE IV scores predicting mortality adult suffering from septic shock admitted our ICU.This a prospective observational study conducted 14-bedded medical ICU tertiary center January 2019 March 2020; 128 were included calculated. We also calculated predicted actual rates standardized ratios. The receiver operating characteristic curves used discrimination.Out patients, 63 (49.21%) died. mean (± standard deviation) admission score 16.7 ± 5.53, while 67.25 25.99. non-survivors had significantly higher when compared those who survived (P < 0.001). slightly better discriminative power (with area under Receiver (ROC) curve 0.78) than ROC 0.74). rate (PMR) patient population on basis scoring system 22.46 15.76, PMR as per 11.64 15.59.Both underestimated patients. Both comparable differentiating survivors non-survivors. However, there good correlation between two models.
