ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND: Different pharmacological ways for pain and stress control exists, but still, there is space alternative therapeutic methods researchers are looking novel to achieve this goal. The aim of study was evaluate the role virtual reality (VR) in reducing during minor interventions such as arterial line placement. METHODS: In study, patients who were candidates catheter placement before anesthesia induction selected. Eligible randomly divided into case groups. After obtaining consent from both groups applying local anesthesia, procedure performed while displaying a film by VR camera group. procedure, pain, stress, satisfaction levels asked patients. Pain score measured Visual Analog Scale vital signs recorded detect changes. RESULTS: results showed that 47.5% group 22.5% had ( P value = 0.019). Considering respectively, 32.5% 45% reported positive 0.251). Intergroup comparison no significant difference between CONCLUSIONS: According results, experienced more which shows using new technology not quite acceptable. Therefore, we recommend experience be familiarized with device normal condition it procedures.
