ABSTRACT
A BSTRACT Background: An accurate diagnosis and timely surgical intervention have significant importance in noncomplicated appendicitis (NCA) complicated (CA). Therefore, any factor that helps the prediction of CA also contributes to suitable treatment options. Aim: This retrospective study aimed identify relationship between acute (AA) preoperative blood test levels whether these parameters can differentiate NCA patients. Patients Methods: database 201 appendectomies 100 control healthy patients was analyzed 2019 2022. were divided into three groups: without peritonitis or phlegmonous as group 1; with perforated, necrotizing 2; (CG) 3. White cell (WBC), platelet distribution width (PDW), mean volume (MPV), red (RDW), creatine kinase (CK), bilirubin collected from compared statistically groups. Results: Age, WBC, PDW set predictive differential a result receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. The multivariate analysis demonstrated age (OR: 1.023; 95% CI: 1.000–1.045; P = 0.04), male sex 3.718; 1.501–9.213; 0.005), WBC 1.000; 1.000–1.000; 0.002), 2.129; 1.301–3.484; 0.003) independently associated CA. Conclusion: higher count, are valuable differentiating NCA, this could be feasible approach for decisions.
