ABSTRACT
Farmers in developing countries are exposed to pesticide hazards due unsafe handling. This study was conducted identify the prevailing practices of use and factors affecting handling pesticides among farmers Chitwan, Nepal. A cross-sectional 125 farmers. None completely followed all protective measures. About 59% disposed empty containers a nearby water source 62% preferred house ceilings as storage place. Males (aOR = 3.99, CI 1.63-9.78) older 6.18, 2.59-14.72) were more likely smoke or chew tobacco during process spray. 2.42, 1.03-5.67), literate 3.56, 1.51-8.33), aware color coding 2.67, 1.13-5.67) read labels on bottles. In spite an extensive pesticides, not following proper safe practices, exposing them community potential hazard.
