ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND: Helicobacter pylori (HP) affects the cardiovascular system. Our aim in this study was to evaluate, whether an infection with HP causes subclinical atherosclerosis.METHODS: We included 90 patients dyspeptic symptoms study. The underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and biopsies were taken. The grouped according histopathologic examination, as negative (n = 21), positive (+) 23), (++) 22), (+++), 24).RESULTS: The neutrophilic gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT) epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) group signifi cantly lower than NGAL (p < 0.001) hs-CRP cIMT 0.008) EAT (+++) group. There a strong correlation between serum levels, thickness.CONCLUSION: HP-infection can lead atherosclerosis via chronic infl ammation. The higher activity of infection, acceleration (Tab.3, Fig. 2, Ref. 46).
