ABSTRACT
Reversible posttranslational modification of proteins by the action small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) peptide (sumoylation) has been known to participate in various biological processes eukaryotes. However, much less is about role sumoylation plants. In our recent paper which we write this Addendum, show that loss SIZ1, a SUMO E3 ligase, results highly increased SA-mediated defense signaling through PAD4-dependent pathway. This leads constitutively expressed pathogen related (PR) genes and disease resistance virulent bacterial pathogen. These findings significantly increase understanding plant system.
