ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to investigate whether a water extract L. cladonioides (LC) has an anti-obesity effect in 3T3-L1 cells and obese mice. Treatment differentiated adipocytes with LC caused significant increase glycerol release reduced the protein expression adipogenic transcription factors, PPARγ C/EBPα. In animal model, mice were artificially induced by high fat diet for 10 weeks. Experimental groups treated (100 mg/kg/day) gavage next At end experiment, body weight group 14.2% compared (HFD) group. treatment also decreased liver (31.0%), epididymal (18.0%) retroperitoneal (19.3%) adipose tissue, kidney (6.7%) weights, respectively, those HFD prevented diet-induced increases serum level TC (22.6%), TG (11.6%), glucose (35.0%), However, HDL-C higher (26.1%) than results thus suggest that suppressed lipid accumulation increased amount release. indicated anti-obese anti-hyperlipidemic effect.
