ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Breast milk is the best available food for optimum growth and development of infants breastfeeding rate increasing in Korea. The purpose this study to measure concentrations macronutrients evaluate their changes according lactation period breast from lactating Korean women.SUBJECTS/METHODS: Milk samples were obtained 2,632 healthy women (mean age; 32.0 ± 3.3 years), where was up a 8 months, who also volunteered participate Human Macronutrient Analysis Research.Lactose, protein, fat water content analyzed with infrared spectrometry using MilkoScan FT-2.RESULTS: The mean macronutrient composition per 100 mL mature 7.1 g lactose, 1.4 protein 3.0 fat, energy 61.1 kcal. The concentration significantly lower at 1-2 weeks (2.0 g/dL) 2-3 months (1.4 than those 0-1 week (2.2 g/dL), but it similar among 3-4 7-8 (1.3 g/dL).Mean lipid levels varied different lactational groups (2.7-3.2 presented no significant difference.Lactose did not differ period.Maternal body mass index positively related contents, negatively lactose content.General linear models examining associations between maternal variables revealed that had major impact on lipid, milk.CONCLUSIONS: These results warrant future studies explore factors may be associated human milk.
