The Basophil Activation Test Is Safe and Useful for Confirming Drug-Induced Anaphylaxis

ABSTRACT
The basophil activation test (BAT) has been suggested as a complementary method for diagnosing drug allergies.The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical utility in patients with drug-induced anaphylaxis.In total, 19 patients, all whom had history moderate severe anaphylaxis, were enrolled.None causative drugs available vitro tests or reliable skin tests; these included, among others, first and second-generation cephalosporins, H2 blockers, muscle relaxants.The BAT yielded positive results 57.9% cases, which similar those prick intradermal (42.1% 57.9%, respectively).When basophils double labelled CD63 CD203c, both are markers, rate increased from 73.7%.Therefore, confirm that is quick, reliable, safe diagnostic tool anaphylaxis.
