ABSTRACT
Laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy (LSC) can be an alternative surgical technique for difficult cholecystectomies. Surgeons performing LSC sometimes leave the posterior wall of gallbladder (GB) to shorten operation time and avoid liver injury. However, leaving inflamed GB is a major concern. In this study, we evaluated clinical outcomes standard laparoscopic (SLC), LSC, removing only anterior (LSCA).We retrospectively reviewed medical records cholecystectomies performed between January 2006 December 2015 analyzed SLC, LSCA.A total 1,037 patients underwent SLC. 22 LSC; 27 LSCA. The mean operating times LSCA were 41, 74, 68 minutes, respectively (P < 0.01). Blood loss was 5, 45, 33 mL 0.05). lengths postoperative hospitalization 3.4, 5.4, 5.8 days. Complications occurred in 24 SLC (2.3%), 2 (9%), 1 patient (3.7%). There no mortality among patients.LSC are safe feasible alternatives These procedures help surgeons bile duct injury conversion laparotomy. has benefits shorter less bleeding compared LSC.
