ABSTRACT
Pterocarpus osun L. plant has been used overtime in the indigenous system of medicine.In this study, methanol, ethanol and aqueous extracts leaves P. were examined against five Escherichia coli strains obtained from wounds.Antibacterial effect leaves, concentration 100 mg/ml, was determined using disc diffusion method.Phytochemical screening revealed presence phenols, flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids alkaloids, glycosides.Leaves showed different zones inhibition to isolates solvents used.Results study that had broad spectrum activity on tested bacteria.
