ABSTRACT
Introduction: Low back disc disease (LSD) is a neurosurgical condition with significant socioeconomic repercussions. The objective of this study was to determine the frequency and report modalities management. Methodology: This on lumbosciatic carried out in neurosurgery department University Hospital Center (CHU), la Renaissance N’Djamena. It covered period 12 months (from September 2019 August 2020). A descriptive an analytical approach were used. variables studied epidemiology, clinic, radiology therapy. Results: results showed that LSD represented 14.7% reasons for consultation neurosurgery. average age 45.8, some extent, it ranges between 18 76. Lifting main reason behind 35.9% cases, followed by sedentary life style which represents 30.8%. Lumbosciatica L5 noted 49.4%. Obesity overweight risk factors (P = 0.02) reported 59% cases. Motor sensory deficits observed 14.8% 17.3% respectively. CT lumbar spine performed 91% MRI 28.9%. L4-L5 herniation 74.3% lateral location 44.2% radicular impingement Conservative treatment instituted 87.2% surgical 12.8% Conclusion: caused lifestyle, physical work overweight. Surgery deals complicated cases not responding conservative treatment.
