ABSTRACT
Background: Quantifying ten-year cardiovascular risk can be challenging. Different online calculators provide different estimates and use only one point in time. However, factors occur over the lifetime of individual. Purpose: This manuscript provides three solutions to improving assessment individuals at intermediate risk. Methods: Measuring Lipoprotein(a)—Lp(a) is recommended for assessing all who are category by standard calculators. Lp(a) primarily determined genetic inheritance. It has undesirable properties being proatherosclerotic, proinflammatory, prothrombotic. apolipoprotein B (apo B) a good index number atherosclerotic particles present. Studies have demonstrated that small, dense LDL cholesterol more atherogenic than larger, less particles. high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) estimation degree inflammation vascular system. Inflammation critical component heart attacks strokes. increased diabetes obesity. Treatment reduce results reduction events, independent lipid values. Results: The above should measured patients with an score. Routine assays readily available reasonable cost. They disease. Their recommendation based on pathophysiology Successful therapy will result decrease each these factors. Conclusion: approach improve guide physician patient correct treatment recommendations.
