Clostridium paraputrificum septicemia and liver abscess

ABSTRACT
We report the first case of a healthy 23-year-old female who underwent an interventional radiology-guided embolization hepatic adenoma, which resulted in gas forming liver abscess and septicemia by Clostridium paraputrificum .A retrospective review Clostridial abscesses was performed using PubMed literature search, we found 57 clostridial cases.The two most commonly reported species are C. perfringens septicum (64.9% 17.5% respectively).C. cases carried mortality 67.6% with median survival 11 h, 70.2% experienced hemolysis.All were to have underlying malignancy at time presentation only 30%.The remaining caused various species, this cohort's clinical course significantly milder when compared above cohorts.
